“Years ago, I purchased a poster signed by Anthony Burrill. We eventually exchanged some e-mails and I got the sense of a simple, modest man. I liked him.
I told him that I found his posters to be impeccable; direct, clear, concise, free of additives and modernity possessing an expiration date.
I suppose that at the time neither one of us imagined that his work would reach a thousand places, and that, disgracefully, it would be prostituted with the more
undesirable typographical uses. A true shame.”
Here is an interesting article that talks about this: http://bit.ly/1VE4dXy.
